Who Should Paint You: M.C. Escher

Open and raw, you would let your true self show for your portrait.
And even if your painting turned out a bit dark, it would be honest.

  2. Hi - glad I could be of some help, it’s always hard when you live so far away to try to support someone having a rough time and I really empathise on the pain with bfeeding - the first couple of weeks can be so tough!

I didn’t learn Norwegian as a child as my father didn’t want that to happen (a looooooong story) - as a result, my Norwegian is minimal. I keep having sporadic bashes at improving it, but it’s not a language that there are many available evening classes in (unlike French, Spanish, etc.) so most of it is by Linguaphone - we do a bit and I understand a bit (more when I spend time there). It’s something I feel a little bitter about TBH (to add to the list of things I feel a little bitter about my childhood, but try to overcome :) ) The shame of it is the lost years with my grandmother who I would very much like to be able to converse fluently with (we sort of muddle by in a mixture of Norwegian, English and French - but it isn’t the same as really talking!)

So no, I wish I was in the position for that to happen - we do do some Norwegian and other bits and pieces - but my hope is that they can spend more time in Norway learning.
